Onesto has been on Rue du Nord since 1979, making it the first Italian restaurant in Luxembourg and still, by most accounts, home to one of the best pizzas in town.
The room is classified as a UNESCO historic monument for the frescoes painted in 1794 by Brother Abraham, a monk from the Abbey of Orval. So yes, you are eating wood-fired pizza under eighteenth-century monastic art. The menu keeps it simple: twenty pizzas from the wood-fired oven, homemade pasta, tiramisu made in-house, and ingredients imported directly from Italy. The terrace on the old cobbled street is the spot on a sunny day.
A Luxembourg classic that has earned its regulars over four decades and shows no signs of slowing down.
